Speaking of slushpile reading, I greatly enjoyed the following.
Doug Cohen interviews Nick Mamatas about editing at Clarkesworld. There’s a lot of solid advice here for any writer trying to break out of the slushpile. My favorite quote: “Nobody ever died regretting not ghostwriting a stripper’s tell-all memoir.”
Kind of makes me want to go find a stripper. Just so I can say, “I refuse to write your memoir!”
